IL SAGRO DEL GRANO, JELSI, ITALY
The following photos are from the Museum of Wheat, Via G. Maiorano - Jelsi - Molise - Italy. Tel. 333-286-9489. Jelsi is now, like most of Italy, Catholic, but in places it is a thin veneer for those who can see beyond it. Jelsi has always been a place whose people live close to the land. There is a festival each year, Il Sagro del Grano, which honors Saint Anna, whom the people credit with saving their town from earthquake and/or flood, depending on whom you ask, but especially the earthquake of July 26, 1805. This is in a province of Campobasso where my brother Alessandro & his family live. Pictured here is the Vatican made completely from wheat!

Lo Stretto di Barba
The sign near the Sabato River marking an area in Benevento, Italy, famed for its Witches and the Walnut tree they dance around. We cannot show the actual sacred ritual sites.... They are sacred and not intended for tourists.
